About Elara
Elara Photography Studio was created with a simple belief at its heart: photography should be welcoming, flexible, and accessible to everyone.

The studio exists to offer a calmer, more considered alternative to traditional photography experiences. Sessions are thoughtfully planned and unhurried, with space to settle, take breaks, and feel comfortable being yourself. There is no pressure to perform and no expectation to fit into a fixed format.

Elara Photography Studio is SEN-aware, inclusive, and fully wheelchair accessible. Accessibility and inclusive practice are central to how the studio operates, not added extras. Each session is paced around individual needs, energy levels, and comfort, allowing genuine connection to take priority over perfection.

The focus is on creating meaningful, lasting artwork in a space where families and individuals feel respected, supported, and genuinely welcome.

About Me
I'm Ella, the photographer behind Elara.

My approach is calm, patient, and quietly guided. I work at your pace, offering direction when it is helpful and stepping back when it is not. I believe photography should feel supportive rather than overwhelming, particularly for children, neurodivergent individuals, and families who may need a more flexible or low-pressure environment.

Before each session, I take time to listen and understand what will help you feel at ease. This includes talking through routines, sensitivities, access needs, and any worries you may have. Nothing is too small to mention, and there is no judgement.

My role is to create a relaxed, supportive experience and to capture images that reflect real connection, warmth, and care. This way of working matters to me, because everyone deserves to feel comfortable and respected in front of the camera

Pickle is my own rescue dog and a constant reminder of why patience, understanding, and flexibility matter.
She is sensitive, observant, and slow to trust new situations, which has shaped how I work with animals and their people. I understand that not every pet is comfortable straight away, and that is always respected during sessions.
About the Barn
Elara Photography Studio is based in a restored rural barn on Sandy Lane, in the Hampshire countryside. Set away from busy roads and high-street noise, the location was chosen deliberately for its sense of quiet, privacy, and space to slow down. For many families, that calm environment is just as important as the photographs themselves.

The barn has been carefully restored and adapted for modern use while retaining its original character. The studio is fully wheelchair accessible, with step-free access and a spacious layout designed to support comfort, confidence, and ease of movement throughout the space.

Inside, the environment is intentionally uncluttered and low-pressure. There is room to arrive gradually, take breaks when needed, and move at your own pace. Sessions here are not rushed or tightly scheduled. The barn supports the Elara approach in the same way the sessions do: quietly, gently, and without expectation.
A Place with History
Long before it became a photography studio, this land formed part of a working rural landscape. The surrounding area has been shaped by generations of farming and stewardship, with the Phillimore family living in this part of south Hampshire since the 19th century.

Over time, the buildings on the estate have been adapted rather than replaced, allowing them to take on new purpose while retaining their character. That sense of continuity is still felt today. The barn is grounded, settled, and unpretentious, shaped by use rather than display.

For Elara, that matters. The studio is a place where people are met as they are, in a setting that feels steady, calm, and respectful of individual needs. The history of the barn is not something on display, but something quietly present in the way the space feels and functions.
